Evaluation - Representation

In my magazine I have done the stereotypical representation of teenagers as this is my target audience therefore in may appeal to them more, I have used images of people that are a similar age to the target audience, again I have done this so that it relates to them. The clothes worn are leggings and a simply top which is possible something that the target audience would wear.

The image on the double page spread represents teenage girls through the costume, the clothes are fashionable and possible an outfit that the audience would like and similar to something that they would wear. The hair and make up is quite natural which again represents an average teenage girl. The models clothes, make up and hair make it easier for the target audience relate to because it represents somebody like them. I have used a mid shot for this image as it then makes it clear to see the whole outfit that she is wearing.

The pose of 'The Courteeners' for the NME magazine if similar to the one of 'Lauren B' from my product, they both represent people that are laid back, my image represents teenagers and the other image represent the indie genre, therefore both images are used to attract a certain target audience.

The target audience for the magazine is teenagers, therefore the language that I have used stereotypical represents the way that teenagers talk, the language is informal and there is slang words used. On the double page spread there is an interview with ‘Lauren B’ which is informal therefore relates to the target audience and gets there attention, words such as ‘yeah’ are used rather than ‘yes’ which is stereotypical the way that teenagers talk. On the contents page I have wrote ‘Ellie Goulding – What Beat thinks about her amazing singing and ‘starry eyes’’, here I have related to one of her songs making the text catchy. I have also used exclamation marks a lot to emphasize. From my research i found out that the language used in magazine are often in the style that would relate to the target audience to get there attention and relate to them.
