From my research I found out the conventions that music magazines have which is the same style as mine. I found out that most front covers have a single model positioned in the centre or to the right. I followed this convention on my product by positioning the model in the middle of this page. I analysed NME, Q and Top of the pops, I was unsure whether to do an indie or pop magazine therefore I analysed these three and from my research I found several convention that I followed for the front cover, contents page and double page spread.

I have used these conventions on my magazine. On the front cover there is the masthead in the left hand corner at the top, there is bold titles and coverlines, the main image is in the centre and i have but a barcode and date on the front cover, there is also a colour theme and i have used language that would appeal to the target audience.
On the contents i have used conventions of a music magazine as there is a colour scheme, the title is at the top and is bold, i have also but subheadings on the contents page.
Also on the double page spread i have used conventions. The title is at the top, a main image, the article on the page is a interview therefore there is also subheading, the language is suited to the target audience and there is a bold headline.
